Solar Spectral Irradiance Monitor (SSIM)

Description

Solar Spectral Irradiance Monitor (SSIM) is a new payload onboard FY-3E satellite witch designed to measure the continuous solar spectral irradiance from 165nm to 1650nm. The instrument consists of three wavebands (UV: 165nm ~ 320nm, VIS: 285nm ~ 700nm, and NIR: 650nm ~ 1650nm), which the spectral resolution is 1nm, 1nm, and 8nm, respectively. The product of SSIM can monitor the spectral variance in solar energy and its long-term change, provide solar reference spectrum.
