Solar Irradiance Monitor-I (SIM-I)

Description

Solar Irradiance Monitor is aimed to measure the Total Solar Irradiance (TSI) at average distance between sun and earth. SIM-I has three absolute radiometers which fixed on designed inclination angle with the FOV of 13.3 degree. When the satellite flies out of the Earth's shadow, the sunlight scans the cavity of radiometer and the instrument observes the incident radiation. Each orbit, SIM-I measures solar irradiance 1 time with 11 minutes period.
